Project Overview
Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust, in collaboration with King’s College London, needed a digital solution to support Children and Young People (CYP) with anorexia nervosa following discharge from inpatient or day-patient care. The aim was to improve continuity of care, reduce carer burden and strengthen recovery outcomes through structured, evidence-based interventions delivered remotely.
Problem Statement
Claryon redeveloped the TRIANGLE platform as a secure, accessible digital space for guided self-help. Designed specifically for a clinical research trial, the platform combined content from two established models (MANTRA and ECHO) to deliver workbooks, videos and moderated discussion forums. Custom digital assessments and interactive tools allow content to be tailored to patient needs while enabling carers to engage meaningfully in recovery.
The Outcome
The platform was trialled with over 380 patient-carer dyads across 25 UK sites. Though now closed following the trial’s conclusion, TRIANGLE demonstrated that digital interventions can effectively extend support beyond discharge, improving psychological well-being and carer experience. It provides a scalable model for combining therapy and technology in eating disorder recovery.
